About the SpeakerTom Pugh is a leading UK economist with a distinguished career spanning government and the private sector. After graduating from the University of Manchester, Tom began his career at HM Treasury during the financial crisis, helping to redraft banking regulations. He later spent eight years at Capital Economics, analysing commodities, Brexit, and the pandemic’s economic impacts. Regularly quoted by outlets such as the Financial Times and BBC, Tom is known for his clear, data-driven insights and engaging commentary at business and economic conferences across the UK and internationally.
